We are a group of dedicated volunteers who are in search of proof of the paranormal.  While we are not scientists, we do use the scientific method and technology to aid us in our investigations. Our team members are highly qualified and have many years experience.

Our team is comprised of highly trained professionals, highly skilled in mainstream technologies such as photography, electronics, research, marketing, videographers, etc...  We utilize these skills to thoroughly investigate all evidence.  Our goal is to provide our clients with reasonable explanations of the occurrences, if there is no reasonable explanation, than we will look at the possibilities of it being paranormal.

We focus our investigations in and around the Rockford, Illinois area, although occasionally we may partner up with paranormal investigators to assist with a large investigation or visit famous haunts in other areas.

Our Mission Statement:

The objective of Rockford Area Paranormal Research is to document the existence of ghosts.  Through the utilization of the scientific method, we aspire to elevate paranormal studies from a pseudo-science to a mainstream science.   Our intent is to attain operational excellence as a respected and credible authority in the field of paranormal studies by:  maintaining a high degree of professionalism, upholding best practices, and the release of evidence only after exhaustive review to eliminate logical and natural causes. We strive to steadily evolve by researching and evaluating current ghost hunting tools, and working to develop new techniques. It is our desire to create educational programs for both paranormal investigators and enthusiasts, to encourage reduced fallacies eliminate fear, and foster respect for historical and haunted locations.

 

Cost of an investigation

There is no charge to request an investigation; all we ask is that you allow a time that is convenient for our unpaid volunteers.

 

What to expect during an investigation

Prior to a live investigation, you will meet with one of our research specialists who will gather information and background on the site in question.  Investigations occur at night and generally involve between 3 and 5 investigators.  We will set up cameras and sound recording equipment as well as conduct walk-through with various equipment including digital recorders, video cameras, EMF detectors and still cameras. Investigations may take anywhere between 4-8 hours, and may require additional visits to collect, analyze and debunk evidence.  If the site in question is a business, investigations need to occur when the business is closed. Home investigations work best when all of the family members and pets stay elsewhere, if at all possible.  This helps us investigate and can validate any occurrences that may happen during the investigation.

After the investigation, our team will analyze the evidence and present you with our findings, as well as copies of all our evidence as soon as possible. If further investigations are needed than we can set up another time to do more investigations to help the clients. We can also refer our clients to religious leaders in the area to help further the investigations if needed.
